Gray level sensor is an analog sensor, which can sense different colors of the ground or desktop and generate corresponding signals. It can realize interactive works related to colors. It can also be used as the line patrol sensor of line patrol car or the field gray level recognition of football robot. The power supply needs to be consistent with the controller, usually 3.3V or 5V.
Based on the photoelectric effect principle of semiconductor, the light and gray sensor is developed. Its main component is phototransistor. Within the effective detection distance, the LED emits white light and irradiates on the detection surface. The detection surface reflects some light. The resistance of the phototransistor decreases with the increase of light intensity. By connecting in series with the resistance and outputting the partial voltage value of the resistance, the changing optical signal can be transformed into changing electrical signal and output from the analog port.
